In 2020, Ciara was assigned to be the sales rep for Edgar’s company. For years we had a professional relationship with no hint of anything romantic ever potentially happening. However, a few years later, Edgar started coming into the office and spending more and more time at Ciara’s desk. All of a sudden her coworkers were making comments like “Oh your husband’s here!” and “When are the Save the Dates going out?”, but she was adamant that nothing was ever going to happen because he was a customer and we don’t cross those boundaries. Even Ciara’s boss, Allen (our Officiant!) started asking “Are you guys dating yet?”. So it was quite apparent to everyone but Ciara what was about to happen. At the beginning of 2023, Ciara took Edgar’s company out to the Suns game for an evening of basketball, food, and plenty of drinks. After the game, we continued on to the early hours in Downtown Phoenix at various bars. It was at Bar Smith that Ciara and Edgar ended up having their first kiss on the dance floor. However, the next day, they agreed to keep a professional relationship as they were both hesitant to ruin their working relationship. But then a few weeks later, Ciara took Edgar’s company to a Coyotes hockey game, and after hanging out that night, we decided there was no way we could deny the feelings anymore. We started officially dating and on March 26, 2023, our relationship began!

Saturday, March 28th

For the wedding, we require a very strict black tie dress code. Please respect the wishes of the couple by following this dress code, we promise you’ll understand when you see everything the day of. Security is under strict instruction to turn away anyone who does not meet these requirements. Men: Please wear a black suit or tux and black bow tie, and either a white or black shirt. This is all black tie formal. Women: Required to wear strictly black. Women may wear a long black dress or jumpsuit. Please avoid all additional colors or prints and stick to solid black outfits.

We suggest you stay in the area that the map shows below, so you’re still close to where everything is happening. For reference, between our house and the wedding venue is about a 5 minute drive.

This is one of our favorite places, with a great rooftop bar and the best views in Old Town Scottsdale! Our cut-off date is&nbsp;Monday, February 9, 2026. We’re so excited you can join us! We highly recommend you stay as close to Old Town Scottsdale as possible, that’s where all the action is going to take place.

How to Get Around

<a href="https://waymo.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Waymo</a> - You’ll see these self driving cars all over and they are our favorite way to get around! Download the app (use code CIARAX4J5 for a promo deal) and request your next ride! Wait times are sometimes a little longer than Uber/Lyft and you can expect prices to be between $10-$30 to get just about anywhere you need. <a href="https://www.uber.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Uber</a> - Uber’s are everywhere and are perfectly safe to take. Just beware that Old Town Scottsdale is a huge tourist destination so it can get quite busy and during peak hours Uber can be a little expensive. <a href="https://www.lyft.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Lyft</a> - Lyfts are basically the same as Ubers and should cost the same. Keep the same thing in mind for the peak times, it can cause prices to go up a little. Golf Carts - You’ll see golf carts all over Old Town. They’re perfectly safe to take and are super convenient but BEWARE: these are SUPER expensive and they take advantage of the convenience factor. Just make sure you ask them to tell you how much it’ll be before you get on for a ride. Rental Car - Feel free to get a rental car if you’re looking to explore Arizona more than just in Old Town Scottsdale. There are tons of cool hikes and lakes around but they’re a longer drive that we wouldn’t recommend taking a ride share service for.

This is one of our go-to places! <a href="http://www.francosscottsdale.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Franco’s Italian Caffe</a> - Delicious upscale Italian food. This is where we had our first date! <a href="http://www.endsrestaurant.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Ends</a> - A unique concept inspired by Anthony Bourdain with fantastic food. This is one of our favorite places for a special occasion or fancy date night, you have to try the Egg Yolk Nigiri, Biscuits, and Burnt Ends. <a href="https://rasushi.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Ra Sushi</a> - Casual sushi place, great happy hour menu. <a href="http://dailydosegrill.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Daily Dose</a> - Great casual breakfast place. Ciara gets the Chicken and Waffles and Edgar gets the Biscuits and Gravy. <a href="http://hulasmoderntiki.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Hula’s Modern Tiki </a>- Polynesian food, really tasty and different food. The drinks are also delicious (watch out, they’re strong!). <a href="https://www.elephanterestaurants.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Elephante</a> - Trendy upscale Italian food restaurant that Ciara frequently goes to for a Girls Night Out, the Vodka Sauce is a must. <a href="https://uchi.uchirestaurants.com/location/sushi-scottsdale/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Uchi</a> - Upscale sushi place with a delicious Waygu roll. <a href="https://www.evoscottsdale.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">EVO</a> - More delicious Italian food, the Fried Burrata is a must-get. <a href="https://craft64.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Craft 64</a> - Casual place for wood-fired pizzas. <a href="https://www.velvettaco.com/location/scottsdale/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Velvet Taco</a> - Unique casual taco place with really interesting pairings. Another one of our frequent places. <a href="https://originalchopshop.com/menu/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">ChopShop</a> - Casual place for healthy breakfast and lunch. Ciara loves the Açaí Bowls here. <a href="http://www.tapaspapafrita.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Tapas Papas Fritas </a>- A great Spanish dinner place with tons of tapas to choose from and amazing Sangria. <a href="https://www.mapleandash.com/menus-scottsdale/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Maple and Ash </a>- A very fancy, upscale steakhouse with the best brunch you’ll ever have. One of our favorite places to visit. Fun fact: Ciara yelled at Charles Barkley here once for complaining about the heat (after a few Espresso Martinis of course, plus she had no idea who he was), and Edgar almost had a heart attack from the shock of it all. But CB slapped Edgar on the shoulder and told him “he had a good one” and Ciara’s convinced that’s when Edgar knew he wanted to marry her.

Bars and Drinking

There are ton and tons of bars in Old Town Scottsdale, these are all in the area and are either a short walk or quick ride away. <a href="https://www.beverlyonmain.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Beverly </a>- Speakeasy vibe, frequently has a DJ playing. Great cocktail menu and always a place Ciara brings out of town visitors. <a href="https://az88.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">AZ88</a> - Great bar for martinis and light bites. This would be a great place to stop in for some wedding pre-drinks, it’s the closest bar to the venue (just walk through the Civic Center Park). <a href="https://www.outriderrooftop.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Canopy Rooftop Bar </a>- Best views in Old Town Scottsdale and great cocktails. <a href="https://rustyspursaloon.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Rusty Spur</a> - An iconic dive bar, if you’ve ever visited us before, Ciara’s dad John has probably brought you here. Cheap drinks and great live music. <a href="https://porterswesternsaloon.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Porter’s Western Saloon</a> - Another dive bar but this one has great cocktail offerings. We’ll likely be heading here for the Wedding after party. <a href="https://patties.foodjoyy.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Pattie’s</a> - Another dive bar, this one is outdoor. (Growing up Ciara’s dad used to tell her never to go here because it’s where people got stabbed. She’s been there hundreds of times, and has yet to get stabbed) <a href="http://giliginsbar.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Gilligan’s</a> - A fun dive bar with a “Spin the Shot” wheel where you can try your luck and see what you get! <a href="http://patio.boondocksaz.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Boondocks</a> - Yet another dive bar but this one is geared more towards the crowd that wants to go clubbing. An iconic placein Ciara’s life right after graduating college, many nights were spent here! <a href="https://liquorpigscottsdale.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Liquor Pig</a> - Craft cocktails and great late night bites. ClubsClubs in Old Town can be hard to get into. Make sure you’re dressed appropriately or you’ll be denied entry. (<a href="https://www.spicebachelorette.com/blog/what-to-wear-to-clubs-in-old-town-scottsdale" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Here’s a link</a> for an idea of the dress code). Be prepared to possibly pay a cover between $20-$50 per person. Also expect to pay between $15-$20 a drink. Amazing drinks and experience. Tickets get released through their newsletter the Monday of the upcoming week. This is in Downtown Phoenix. <a href="https://www.bestcocktailbarphoenix.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Trophy Room</a> - Right next to Carry On, this is another unique speakeasy where you have to lock your phone up before entering. Requires a reservation as well but would be a great place to tack on to your Carry On plans. <a href="https://36belowaz.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">36 Below</a> - Concept of the speakeasy changes all the time. It’s about 10 minutes from Old Town, right next to Century <a href="https://bartershake.com/platform-18/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Platform 18</a> - Train themed speakeasy, very fun experience. About 10 minutes from Old Town.

Adult Activities

Make sure you don’t have any other plans for the day, these guys will make sure you can’t walk straight by the end! <a href="https://www.scottsdalewinetrail.com/wine-trail-map/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Wine Tasting</a> - Check out the Scottsdale Wine Trail in Old Town and taste all of the delicious wine Arizona has to offer. Our favorite is LDV Winery! <a href="https://lightandbark.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Candle Making</a> - A fun activity that takes about an hour. Make sure you leave enough time in your trip to be able to pick it up (unless you want to leave it for us and we’ll pick it up when it’s ready!). An outdoor course that’s super fun when the weather is great. About a 10 minute drive from Old Town. <a href="https://topgolf.com/us/riverwalk/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Top Golf Scottsdale</a> - Essentially a giant driving range to practice your skills and have a few drinks while doing so. About a 10 minute drive from Old Town.

Shopping

<a href="https://www.fashionsquare.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall</a> - Located in the heart of Old Town, this has world class shopping. Ciara spent all of her free time here until she was about 17 (and frequently finds herself there still). Old Town Shops - There are tons of local shops in Old Town. Walk around and you’ll find many with local gifts and souvenirs. Ciara’s favorite is <a href="https://themerchantile.co/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Merchantile</a>, Edgar’s favorite is <a href="https://www.baseballism.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Baseballism</a>. And John has done all of his Christmas shopping for the Traynor Family at <a href="https://www.shadesofthewest.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Shades of the West</a> for the past 25 years, so you might find some fun things in there too.

Golfing

All of these golf courses are about 5-10 minutes from Old Town.

<a href="https://www.golfthephoenician.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">The Phoenician</a> - Great course, on the pricier side. <a href="https://www.papagogolfclub.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Papago Golf Club</a> - Great course, on the more reasonable side. Check out Lou’s for a delicious meal after your round! <a href="https://grassclippingsaz.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Grass Clippings </a>- An all lit golf courses that’s open until 1am! Great driving range with Top Tracer tracking. This is where Ciara grew up learning to golf as a kid, and one of our favorite places to go for date night! <a href="https://continentalgc.com/?utm_source=google&amp;utm_medium=organic&amp;utm_campaign=google_business_profile" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Continental Golf Club</a> - A Par60 course right in Old Town. Great to get in a quick 9!

Hiking

One of our favorites for a nice outdoor walk! About a 10 minute car ride from Old Town. <a href="https://www.visitphoenix.com/sonoran-desert/parks/camelback-mountain/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Camelback Mountain</a> - This is NOT a beginner trail. This is a really difficult hike that you should not do if you’ve never gone hiking before. There are parts of the trail where you are pulling yourself up with chains. If you choose to do this, please make sure you’re prepared with the right shoe wear and plenty of water. But the views are spectacular! About 5 minutes from Old Town. <a href="https://www.phoenix.gov/administration/departments/parks/activities-facilities/trails/piestewa-peak-dreamy-draw/piestewa-trails.html" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Piestewa Peak</a> - Great views of Downtown Phoenix, has varying options of difficulty to choose from. Please be prepared with the right shoe wear and plenty of water if you’re attempting this hike. Also, parking is extremely limited so keep that in mind if you’re coming here as well. About 15 minutes from Old Town.

Family Activities

<a href="https://www.odyseaaquarium.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Odysea Aquarium</a> - The best aquarium ever! They also offer lots of different experiences like the Butterfly World, Pangea Land of Dinosaurs, and the Museum of Illusions. We love to visit here for their 21+ Fish Sips Happy Hour events! About a 10 minute drive from Old Town. <a href="https://www.phoenixzoo.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Phoenix Zoo</a> - A great zoo with lots to see and do! About a 10 minute drive from Old Town. <a href="https://dbg.org/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Desert Botanical Gardens </a>- Right next to the Zoo, these gardens are beautiful and you’ll get the full experience of the Desert landscape. We love going here to see their installations around Christmas time and we’ve been to the restaurant Gertrude’s for date night quite a few times! About a 10 minute drive from Old Town. <a href="https://www.octaneraceway.com/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Octane Raceway </a>- A fun place for Go Kart riding, Axe Throwing, and arcade games. About 10 minutes from Old Town. <a href="https://www.iflyworld.com/phoenix" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Indoor Skydiving </a>- All the fun without the plane to jump out of! About 10 minutes from Old Town. Spring Training/Baseball - Depending when you’re here, you may be able to catch a baseball game. We have tons of Spring Training stadiums in Arizona (The Giants are in Old Town, Diamondbacks/Rockies, the Cubs, and the A’s are all about 10 minutes from Old Town, and all the others are about 30 minutes), and the Diamondbacks stadium is in Downtown Phoenix (about 15 minutes from Old Town). Spring Training ends March 26th and the Diamondbacks are away for their opening weekend, returning on March 30th. We definitely recommend touring some stadiums though! We have recently become Stadium Chasers and have made it to 5/30 fields!

About 10 minutes away from Old Town. <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/2dWhCSP1xrwSAmjD9?g_st=ipc" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Bronzed Bungalow&nbsp;</a>- Spray tan studio where Ciara goes every Thursday at 7:30pm to get her custom spray by Dani! They’re in Old Town so get an appointment here to be bronzed for the wedding! <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/x7BX9LgwGuwmMviMA?g_st=ipc" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Dry Bar </a>- Blow dry bar where Ciara goes to relax and get her hair done. He sees Dru, who cut Diplo’s hair! Located right in Old Town!

Things to do

Her favorite stores to meander in: Anthropologie, Abercrombie &amp; Fitch, Lululemon, Gorjana, Sephora, Sur La Table, Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Bad Birdie. About 20 minutes away from Old Town. <a href="https://maps.app.goo.gl/jokfNXpMUmnU9s1aA?g_st=ipc" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">Homegoods</a> - The wedding was decorated through about 150 trips to HomeGoods, so of course it has to be mentioned. Ciara’s favorite location is linked (Edgar said every location is the worst location), it’s about 25 minutes from Old Town.

We’ve celebrated many anniversaries, birthdays, and special occasions here. The Cesar salad is our favorite and the chicken is a must-get. Edgar loves all of their steaks too. We’ve never had a bad meal here. And make sure you get a bottle of Robert Craig Howell Mountain to wash it all down!
